We suggest that you download the tour while still on WiFi before you begin your tour. You can listen to the introduction audio before getting to your first stop, but do not click the start tour button until you have arrived at your first stop.

Once you start the tour at the first stop, audio should begin automatically.

To see a list of all the stops on your tour, click the list icon at the top right corner.

To see a map view of all the stops and directions, click the map icon at the bottom of the screen.

When you open your app, go to the settings screen to turn on the Location Events toggle and add in your preferred directions app. This will allow you to use an outside navigational system if needed.

Choose your preferred navigation app.

Check out our video with tips on how to do the driving tours!

Driving tours are meant to be a hands-free experience. Audio and directional navigation will play automatically as you drive. We have some tips that will help make this experience go as smoothly as possible.

 •
settings screen with arrow pointing at tours tab at bottom

Go our tours tab and click on the driving tour you would like to do.

 •
list of our driving tour options

Each tour has a hands-free and alternate route option. We suggest starting with the hands-free option, but you can switch to the other if there are any road closures that complicate the audio navigation.

 •
map screen with arrow pointing to location arrow

If you click the open arrow on that screen it will show you where you are at that moment.

 •
map screen with arrow pointing to gps button

If you click the right turn arrow in the diamond, it will take you to your preferred navigation app. We do not suggest you use that option, unless there are road closures or you have missed a turn.

As you drive, you will be given turn-by turn instructions. Please drive slowly and pull over if you need to use your phone.

If there are any issues, please use the alternate tour route and follow your phone’s navigational app.

We hope you enjoy your tour, and contact us at hpmuseum@highpointnc.gov with any technical issues or questions.

Before starting a tour, be sure to go to the settings tab at the bottom of your screen and click the "Check for updated content" button.
